principles of instructional design
Principles of instructional design
Assumptions
learning environment:
focus more on learner by providing environment. Both instructivist and
constructivist approach
It doesn’t follow particular pedagogy or learning theory. Principle of
stimulus ,response and reward.
Human performance technology (HPT)
Performance gap is due to lack of knowledge, motivation ,resource and
other conditions.
Learning is a process that leads to a change in a learner’s disposition
and capabilities that can be reflected in behavior.
learning situation has two part external and internal.
Some key principle of instructional design include :
Gain attention
Learning objective
Assess performance
Provide feedback
Present information
1. need assessment:
Before creating any instructional material, it is important to identify
the needs of the learner that the material is relevant to their goal or
not.
2.Clear objectives:
The instructional material should have clear and measurable learning
objectives.
3.Active learning:
Learners should be engaged in the learning process actively.
4.Relevance :
The instructional material should be designed to be relevant and m
eaningful to the learners ,providing real life knowledge and skills.
5.Feedback :
Regular feedback should be provided to learners to help and focus
their effort.
6.Assesment :
It includes assessment that evaluates the learners understanding.
7.Iterative Design: It includes continuous improvement based on
feedback from learners and other stake holder.
